The Rise of Mia & Mya Pauldo: Twin Basketball Phenoms
Early Life & High School: Laying the Foundation for Success
Born on February 23, 2007, Mia and Mya Pauldo have been inseparable since day one. Their basketball journey began early, with their father DJ Pauldo sacrificing the family garage to build a full-sized court. This dedication paid off as the twins quickly outgrew their competition, dominating both girls and boys in their age group.
At Morris Catholic High School in New Jersey, Mia and Mya Pauldo have become a force to be reckoned with. Mia, ranked 8th in the 2025 espnW Terrific 25, is known for her spotlight-ready game and unmatched swagger. Mya, the floor general, complements her sister perfectly with pinpoint passes and excellent game control.
Their high school career has been nothing short of spectacular. Mia recently surpassed the 2,000-point mark, a rare feat for any high school player. Meanwhile, Mya has contributed over 1,500 points to their combined 4,000+ career points. (Findaballer Report)
College Bound: Mia & Mya Pauldo Commit to Tennessee Volunteers
In a highly anticipated decision, Mia and Mya Pauldo announced their commitment to the University of Tennessee in July 2024. The twins, determined to continue playing together, chose the Lady Vols program under first-year head coach Kim Caldwell.
Mia, a five-star recruit ranked 13th overall, and Mya, a four-star prospect ranked 49th, are set to bring their dynamic backcourt to Knoxville. Their commitment has sparked excitement among Vol Nation, with fans eagerly awaiting their arrival in 2025.
Professional NIL: Breaking Barriers and Building Brands
The Pauldo twins have made history off the court as well. At just 15, they signed a groundbreaking Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with Puma. This makes them among the youngest athletes to secure such a partnership with a major brand.
Their NIL success doesn’t stop there. Mia and Mya have also partnered with Malcolm Garrett, a renowned sneaker customizer. These deals have catapulted them into the spotlight as some of the most marketable high school athletes.
Current Status: Undefeated State Champions and Beyond
As of the 2024-25 season, Mia and Mya Pauldo continue to dominate the high school basketball landscape. They’ve led Morris Catholic to multiple Morris County Tournament titles and are pursuing another NJSIAA Non-Public trophy.
Mia’s exceptional performance has put her in contention for the Gatorade National New Jersey Player of the Year award. She’s also set to participate in the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game at the Barclays Center.
The future looks bright for these twin phenoms. With their commitment to Tennessee and growing brand partnerships, Mia and Mya Pauldo are poised to make a lasting impact on women’s basketball.
