St. Rose 61 vs. Rumson Fair-Haven- Boys 35

The Shore Conference Tournament

The Roses thorned the bulldogs 61 -35. Middletown south high school at 11am in the morning, the stage was set.

St. Rose came out strong in the 1st quarter ballooning the score 18-4. In the second quarter both teams stalled scoring a total of 13 points going into the half. The game remained from the bulldogs reach.

Manasquan 65. Toms River 60 (OT)

The squan warriors pulled out an overtime win version Toms River. The warrior finished with 4 players in double figures in points. Griffin Linstra (20pts), Jason Larned (14 pts), Luke Roy (11pts), Alex Konov (10pts).

Toms River battled will the end. Sean Kirby-Gathers led scoring with 17 while Micah Ford added 11 points.

St. Rose 43 vs. Manasquan 44- Girls

The Manasquan girls squeeze out a win in the quarterfinal round verses St. Rose. The game was a battle from beginning to end when Hope Masonius gets to the rim for a glass lay to put the warriors up one.

Jada Lynch finished with 23 points 6 rebounds and 2 steals however she fouled out of the game with 59 seconds left in the 4th quarter.  Hope Masonius, with a heroic attack to the basket sealed the game and held off the St Rose team.

RBC 62 vs. Rumson Fair-Haven 41

Rumson Fair Haven got smacked by the Caseys 62-41. Red Bank Catholic has established themselves with a 21-4 record. They finished the game with four players in double figures. All three Liggio Sisters in points and, Tessa Carman with 10 boards.

Raquel Guidetti scored her 1,000th point joining a prestigious list of former girls basketball players.

St. John Vianney 43  vs. Red Bank Regional 35

SJV Lady Lancers held off Red Bank Regional 43-35. Madison Kocis scored a high 12 points while Julia Karpell added 11.

For Red Bank Regional Caroline Polloway and Sinai Biychanton both scored 8 points in the loss.

St. Rose vs. CBA (Christian Brothers Academy)

St. Rose slams CBA. The semifinal shore conference game was an attraction but not so much by the matchups.

Brian Lynch and Geoff Billet both played at CBA, won championships together, and had great college careers.  They both made their way back to their hometown in their own way.

Evan Romano led all scorers with 22 points, he also added 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  Gio Panzini added 19, Matt Hodge with 15 and his brother, Jayden Hodge with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.


St. Rose vs. Manasquan | Boys Shore Conference Final

The Shore Conference final was held at Monmouth University on February 18th, 2024.  The first quarter Manasquan battled and kept the score tight 12-12. But in the second quarter with the smothering defense and single shot possessions, Manasquan scored 4 points.  Griffin Linstra had game high for the warriors with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists.

  In the second half St Rose continued their dominance scoring 17 in the 3rd quarter. By then, the game was over, the fourth quarter got a lil chippy due to the warrior fight still willing to fight but there was nothing left.

Jayden Hodge led all scorers with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals. Matthew Hodge added 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Gio Panzini added 5 points 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Roses earned their first ever shore conference tournament.  Coach Brian Lynch as player earned three shore conference titles. He now has earned his first as a coach.

Hoop Group April Showdown: A Weekend of Basketball Excellence

The Hoop Group Basketball April Showdown, held from April 11-13 at the Hoop Group Headquarters in Neptune, NJ, brought together some of the most competitive grassroots basketball teams from across the region. Brian Lynch Basketball AAU Program: Building a Legacy

Brian Lynch, a former Villanova standout and European professional player, has transitioned into coaching with a focus on developing young athletes. After 20 years playing and coaching overseas, Lynch returned to New Jersey to lead St. Rose High School’s boys’ basketball program. He also established the Brian Lynch Basketball (BLB) AAU program, which offers clinics, camps, and competitive teams aimed at fostering player growth.

“Coaching young players is about teaching them the right way to play—teamwork, strategy, and discipline,” said Lynch.

BLB Hamilton 7th Grade Team: A Season of Growth

Blake Hamilton, a former Monmouth Hawk with extensive coaching experience, led the BLB Hamilton 7th grade team for the April showdown tournament at Hoop Group. Despite their efforts at the April Showdown, the team finished 1-3 due to offensive misreads and turnovers.

EC Cyclones U16 & U17: Dominating the Court

Led by Mike Cervellino—a veteran coach with over two decades of AAU experience—the EC Cyclones U16 team delivered an impressive performance at the April Showdown. They achieved a perfect record of 3-0 with dominant wins over Team Elevation, Underrated Ballerz, and Team Ice from Newark.

The Hoop Group Headquarters (HGHQ) in Neptune, NJ is renowned for hosting elite basketball events like the April Showdown. Featuring four NBA replica courts and state-of-the-art facilities, HGHQ provides an unparalleled environment for players to compete and develop their skills.

St. Rose Shore Conference Dominance Continues With Gritty SCT Title Defense

St. Rose cemented its legacy as a Shore Conference powerhouse, defeating Christian Brothers Academy 45-36 for its second straight SCT championship. The Purple Roses showcased lockdown defense and clutch performances to secure the historic win.

St. Rose SCT Dynasty Takes Shape

Jayden Hodge delivered a signature performance with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals, declaring: “This is a great feeling, but we’re not done. We want to do it again next year.” Coach Brian Lynch praised his team’s resilience: “These guys put time and effort into this. To repeat shows their character.”  

Defense Seals the Deal

At Halftime, Coach Brian Lynch spoke sternly in the locker room: ” We’ve gotten here playing defense the right way. Knowing our rotations and staying consistent with our defensive fundamentals.” St. Rose’s tenacious defense forced critical errors, including Bryan Ebeling’s game-changing 10-second violation stop against CBA’s Justin Fuerbacher. Senior Evan Romano emphasized their strategy: “We stayed true to defending and guarding – that’s how we win.”
